I had a really lovely stay at La Ruka! the owner was so friendly and gave me a full tour of the hostel. the communal spaces, kitchen, and bathroom facilities were all great. I especially enjoyed the communal area with comfy sofas and armchairs, where I had great conversations with other backpackers. the bunk bed I stayed in was comfortable, and there were lockers provided for extra security. I also appreciated the option to rent bikes for just $5 a day. the staff members were helpful, and I really loved the overall welcoming atmosphere. The location was perfect, being right in between town and the beach. 🙌.

I had the most amazing stay at a unique little place called La Ruka. As a solo traveler, I felt right at home. The hostel had an awesome recycling and composting system, which really impressed me. I loved that they had four adorable resident dogs and amenities like a pool table, kitchen, and board games. The cool thing was that most of the art inside was made from upcycled materials. The owner and volunteers were incredibly lovely and made my stay even more enjoyable. I had initially planned to stay for just 5 days, but ended up extending my stay to 3.5 weeks! I'm already planning a return trip. La Ruka truly feels like your home away from home.

Text: Had a blast riding the waves at Cocles Beach and exploring the jungle trails. The free airport shuttle was a convenient bonus. Pity about the dorm room with two tiny fans for eight beds and no natural light, but hey, who needs personal space? 😂

I had the most amazing experience at a hostel that felt like home. The people who created this place give off the best vibes and attract only great people. The dorm was perfect, the kitchen had everything I needed, and the free pool table was a great addition. The location was ideal, close to a supermarket, town, and the beach. I even rented a bike for just $4 a day. I couldn't believe I had to leave after three weeks, I could have stayed forever. I highly recommend this hostel for its amazing atmosphere and unforgettable memories.
